BYOB

Beat Your Own Bois

Sports trivia built for the group chat. The first game is Last Dart: land an exact stat total in 7 darts by stacking the real careers of NFL, MLB and NBA players.

How to play

Every round gives you a stat and an exact number to hit. Your job is to add up real player stats until you land on it.

  1. Read the target. Something like Career Passing TDs = 1,500.
  2. Throw a dart. Search for any player. Their real total for that stat gets added to your running count.
  3. Land it exactly. You have 7 darts to hit the number on the nose.
  4. Don't go over. A dart that would overshoot is wasted: it adds nothing, but you keep your remaining darts, so you can try a smaller name.
A round, start to finish
Career Passing TDs = 1,500
  • Dart 1Peyton Manning+539961 to go
  • Dart 2Russell Wilson+353608 to go
  • Dart 3Tom Brady+649Over by 41: wasted, still 608 to go
  • Dart 4Kirk Cousins+314294 to go
  • Dart 5Carson Palmer+294Bullseye. Used 5 of 7 darts.

Every dart gets a quick reaction. When you're done, Share Results grades each throw from 0 to 100 against the best pick that was available at that moment, then gives you a score and an emoji grid to paste in the chat.

Ways to play

VS Computer

Fastest start

A random target, always guaranteed to be solvable: it's built from a real combination of career stats, so there's at least one way to land it. Just you against your own 7 darts.

Custom Games

Pre-made games

Play a target someone already built, like BYOB's weekly games or a game a friend saved. The category and the number stay hidden until you start, so no peeking.

  • Solo: you throw your own 7 darts.
  • Multiplayer: same target, everyone throws on their own board, side by side.

Got a link to a game? Opening it takes you straight to this screen with that game loaded.

Host Mode

Build your own

You choose the game. Pick the stat and the exact number, then decide how tricky to make it:

  • Stat: passing, rushing or receiving yards and TDs, receptions, sacks, interceptions, tackles.
  • Timeframe: a full career, or single season, where every dart must name a specific year.
  • Year range: count only certain seasons, like 2010 to 2015.
  • Narrow the pool: limit guesses to a division, a team, a position (tight ends only, say) or rookies.

Save the game as Public (listed for everyone) or Friends only (hidden, reachable only by its link), then copy the link to send around. The NFL version has every option above; MLB and NBA have fewer.

Switch sports any time with the NFL / MLB / NBA tabs at the top of the game.

Playing with friends

Two ways to do it, depending on whether everyone is in the same place.

Same room, one screen

  1. Open Host Mode and set your host name.
  2. Add your friends. You need at least 2 to race.
  3. Build a game, or load a saved one, and hit Start.
  4. Everyone throws at the same target on their own board. Pick whose turn it is under Recording for, then type their guess.
  5. When all 7 darts are thrown, the results board ranks everyone: an exact hit wins, fewest darts breaks ties, and if nobody lands it the closest total takes it.

Across the group chat

  1. Start any game and tap Copy link to this target. Saved games get a readable link like /nfl/week-7.
  2. Drop it in the chat. Friends open it on their own phones and play it solo.
  3. Everyone taps Share Results and pastes their score back to the chat.
  4. Compare scores and talk your trash.

A Friends only game keeps its link private: only people you send it to can open it.

You don't need an account to play. Sign in (top of the game) to keep your stats across devices and to save games to the shared library.
